SEAN HUZE is originally from Baton Rouge, LA. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2001-2005 in the infantry field with 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion. On February 6, 2003 he deployed as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. 2nd LAR saw action from Nasirya to Tikrit. Sean was awarded a Certificate of Commendation citing his “courage and self sacrifice throughout sustained combat operations” while in Iraq. Other awards include The Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, The Combat Action Ribbon, Meritorious Promotion for Corporal, The Presidential Unit Citation, The Iraq Campaign Medal, The Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, The Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, The National Defense Service Medal, and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. He received an honorable discharge from the Marine Corps on March 7th, 2005 related to an injury he sustained in Nasirya, Iraq.
Upon returning from Iraq, he authored the critically acclaimed play, The Sand Storm: Stories from the Front which ran in Washington, D.C. after two successful runs in Los Angeles and has been produced in Denver, CO, Portland, ME, and debuted in the academic setting as part of LACC’s Fall 2006 season, with a European debut planned for May 2007 in Germany. His second play Weasel which addresses Articles 133 & 134 of the UCMJ, made its debut in September 2005 at The Kennedy Center’s Page 2 Stage Festival. His third play, The Wolf, which tackles Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder brought on by the experience of combat in Iraq, will world premiere in Los Angeles in March, 2007. In addition to his work for the stage, Sean has recently wrapped his first film project, Homecoming, which takes a hard look at the challenges veterans face upon return from war.
Sean has also appeared in the hard hitting documentary The Ground Truth which world premiered at Sundance 2006 and was distributed by Focus Features. He recently landed a supporting role in the new Paul Haggis film, In the Valley of Elah which begins shooting in December 2006.
Sean continues to work as a writer for stage and film, producer, military script consultant, and actor. He now resides in Los Angeles, CA with his son, Andrew Patrick.
